“The Logo”

As we began the process of wedding planning we knew that in our lives and on this important day we wanted to celebrate our unique backgrounds as well as our shared experiences. With this in mind, we thought it would be fun to create a visual representation of our story, highlighting both our individual and shared backgrounds, blending into one shared story for the future.

“Hidden” within our logo are our initials, “K+O”. Katherine’s initial is the foundation for the symbol of her birthplace NY, the architecturally stunning Chrysler building. Ochuko’s initial rises over the symbol of his native Nigeria, the palm tree, a ubiquitous and historically important tree of the region. From here, the imagery takes on overlapping meanings. The Chrysler building, as a symbol of NY, also speaks to the Ochuko’s time in medical school here, while the palm tree is also a strong reminder of their shared time at Stanford University with its breathtaking Palm Drive. Finally, the placement of the circle above the scene is an optimistic hope for bright sunny days ahead (or a bright moon rising above the celebration of marriage as friends and family dance the night away!)
